Barcelona’s La Liga little hopes has been hollowed by Espanyol

The 1-1 Draw with Espanyol demeaned Barcelona’s performance and as a result Barcelona’s dream of returning to La Liga little has almost been shattered. The last match that has been played by Barcelona and Espanyol brings no winning for any of the team, but it affected the status of the team Barcelona more than the Espanyol, because due to this unsatisfactory performance of Barcelona, the team went behind Real Madrid with the difference of five points
.
Considerably the overall performance of the team was not remarkable; but the last minute lead by Barcelona was exciting and can be termed as a good football. The header by the club’s most favorite Cesc Fabregas ignited the field for a few minutes and the club also found a ray of hope, but it was not enough to secure winning. However, this goal turned important for the club in the regard that it was the club’s 100th goal in all contests of this football season. Another important and remarkable point of the match was the low header by another strong player of the team Alvaro Vazquez. This equliser during the 86th minute of the match simply rocked the performance of club Barcelona.

The team Espanyol has en exciting young brigade who enhance confidence of the coach Mauricio and he said that the team would continue with this attacking spirit in rest of the matches as well.

Loan Verdu has been denied for two times during the match, once by Pique and again by the keeper- Victor Valdes.

When Fabregas of Barcelona headed home within the penalty area just after the 16th minute of the match, Barca took the lead. Instantly the keeper went slow to counter as the ball passed underneath the keepers dive.

In the Spanish La Liga FC Barcelona dropped five points just behind Real Madrid. This happened following a 1-1 draw with Espanyol. Barcelona was only able to do away with a draw with neighbors Espanyol in an exciting and controversial game. FC Barcelona was able to gain a first half lead against a motivated and forced home side attack. Barcelona was able to gain the lead following a head lead by Cesc Fabregas. This head goal by Cesc Fabregas was the 100th goal in all competitions of the season. Espanyol played with utmost intensity in the second half of the game. Barcelona never really looked comfortable in the second half of the game against Espanyol.

The score line read 1-1 as Alvaro Vazquez was able to score a header, five minutes before finishing time. The last match kicked off with Rayo Vallecano against Sevilla. Rayo Vallecano came up as the winning side as they won by a comfortable margin of 2-1 against Sevilla. Aritz Aduriz was able to score a late equalizer to enable Valencia to gain a 2-2 draw away to Villarreal. Betis was successful in registering a third consecutive win. Betis registered their third successful win of the season with a thumping 2-0 win over Sporting Gijon. Milan was successful in maintaining their lead too. AC Milan was successful yet again to maintain their lead in the Italian Serie A football.

AC Milan registered a 2-0 win against Atlanta in the last match as well. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince were both successful in scoring goal. Their goal helped to keep AC Milan at the Serie A summit. At the Serie A summit, Juventus pressurized AC Milan. Juventus was by far the most consistent team for the entire season. Juventus was successful in maintaining an unbeaten record so far in this particular season. Alessandro Matri, whose performance below par in the previous games, was able to score the sole goal against Lecce.

The sole goal scored by Alessandro Matri helped Juventus beat Lecce by a margin of 1-0. Lecce always considered as a bottom ranked side could hardly put up any sort of resistance. This win of Juventus against Lecce helped Juventus to stay neck and neck with Milan. In some of the other matches played, Udinese was able to register victory against struggling Cesena by a convincing victory margin of 4-1. Roma defeated Chievo by a margin of 2-0, as Francesco Totti scored two convincing goals.

All mobile activity figures to increase dramatically with the NFL playoffs starting this weekend as the most anticipated month of the year has finally arrived.

The great mobile sports betting question will ultimately come down to whether or not defense even matters anymore in the modern NFL as offenses are dominating, as evidenced by the top two seeds.

The number one seed in the American Conference, the New England Patriots, scored a whopping 513 points in their 16 games but allowed a staggering 342, hardly the stuff of Super Bowl champions from a generation ago.

Yet another trio of NFC teams are in with questionable defenses as the New Orleans Saints allowed 339, the Atlanta Falcons allowed 350, and the Detroit Lions allowed 387. There was more “sanity” in the AFC as Pittsburgh allowed 227 and Houston allowed 278. However Cincinnati allowed 323 and Denver allowed 390.

Last year the Packers proved you can literally “wing it” to the Super Bowl championship as they were the last seed in the NFC but were led by their prolific offensive attack all the way past Pittsburgh on Super Sunday.

The evolution of the modern NFL offense has completely changed the traditional dynamics of what to expect and who to favor in games as the sport is becoming basketball on turf. With that in mind the NFL Playoffs could very well turn out to be the most exciting and unpredictable of all time.

The par-72 course at the Seshan International Club in Shanghai is hosting an enthralling competition featuring the world’s top golfers. While there have been many surprises in the tournament’s first leg, one can now expect the competitive tides to move in any direction. Some of the highlights include Keegan Bradley’s performance outshining many of the world’s top players, Bo Van Pelt’s consistent drive and Fredrik Jacobson’s competitive determination shown on the course. The standings include players from many countries including the United States, Sweden, South Africa, Britain, South Korea Venezuela, Germany and Italy. The first round was witness to some of the best swings, a multitude of birdies and eagles from the phenomenal players.
With a score of 65, Keegan Bradley is presently leading the tournament after the end of the first round. Players just behind him are on 67. There are three players tied on that score, and they include Von Pelt of the US, Jacobson and Alexander Noren of Sweden. While the competition is brewing up slowly for speculating fans, one expects the players from Britain, South Korea and Australia to catch up in the next few rounds. However, with Bradley’s confidence boost in the first round, it can get difficult for other players, especially if he holds on to his determination and improved swings. British players have remained out of the top 5 spots, but with Justin Rose now on 68, the competition seems well balanced.
South African players are doing moderately well, but it is too early to say if they will slide up or down the scorecard. Rory Sabbatini is on 69, while his national partners Schwartzell and Kruger have managed to stay in the competition with a present score of 70. One would be excited about how things shape up in the second round. With a large number of US players on the first-round scorecard, there seems to be a high level of contentment for the national side. However, with the Shanghai tournament being an individually rewarded set of rounds, the players will be striving hard to compete with players like Bradley and Von Pelt.

Amir Khan Eyeing a Showdown with Mayweather at Wembley

The British boxing sensation, Amir Khan, is of the belief that a mega fight with arch rival Mayweather is on the cards in the next 12 months and he has chosen Wembley stadium as the venue for this prestigious bout of the Titans in boxing. The WBA and IBF lightweight champion has recently knocked out Zab Judah in a boxing battle and is planning on his next career move by arranging a fight with Mayweather in a major battle at Wembley. His next challenge though will be a fit against Lamont Peterson for the IBF belt and this will be followed by a tussle with the winners of the clash between Erik Morales and Jorge barrios in September.
Amir Khan’s ultimate goal is to fight against the champion American superstar boxer Mayweather in front of a capacity Wembley audience. Khan has said that every young champion will be vying to fight against the best player in the world and he feels that Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers along with Manny Pacguiao. He says that it is not practical for him to fight against Manny as both of them train together are the best mates in the boxing circles. But Floyd is in a different zone altogether and hence he is hopeful of fighting against him in the near future. If this ambition of Khan turns into a reality, Wembley stadium will be witnessing one of the greatest fights in the history of boxing.

Shay Given, the new entrant to the Aston Villa team, is happy with his switch. Shay Given who is 35years of age has been appointed as the new Aston Villa goal keeper. He was taken as Manchester City’s goal keeper in the last season by Joe Hart. But poor given was deprived of any action last season. So, he was happy to grab the offer by Aston Villa by both his hands. He described the offer of Aston Villa as too good to avoid. He was actually lured by the fact that he will be able to be moving on the ground at least this season. Given said that he did not want to spend one more campaign by just sitting on the bench. He is now approaching the new season with more optimism.

Given was all praise for the Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish. Given said that he had met Alex before and is very impressed with Alex’s capabilities as the manager. So, when he received a call from Aston Villa he was very much interested to switch. Given said that he is only concerned with playing football as it was his career and he wanted to play as much game as he can. It was really frustrating for him in Manchester City but was not able to complain about it as he respected the decision of the manager.

For a person like given who was playing football through out his career sitting idle was unbearable. He added that it was a real tough decision to make between Manchester and Aston Villa. Given even praised Manchester by saying that Manchester City has a real good future and he is sure that Manchester will become a big name not only in premier league but also in world football. Given is of opinion that he is just 35 and he should be playing football regularly. He feared that sticking to Manchester will not do any good to him. So, he is now in the Aston Villa. He never blamed the Manchester coach for not allowing playing; he said that if the manager decides to keep him away from the ground he has to respect it. It is good to see that given has come out of Manchester with utmost dignity. The fans of Aston Villa are waiting to see how this man will work under his new coach and manager.

Josh Willingham scores five RBIs
On Monday, Josh Willingham chose to appeal rather than face suspension. Asserting his choice, the outfielder launched a three-run home run and tallied the season’s highest five RBIs in a 7-2 series victory in the opening match against the Rangers. The player was facing a one-match suspension following his actions at a match played two days ago. However, because of his appeal, Willingham was at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Though most people agree that this may have been on the player’s mind, Willingham insists that he focused only on playing his game without letting the entire episode affect his mind. After the win, Willingham said that he was glad to have helped his team win the match being able to hit a pitch when it was made available to him.
Willingham jumpstarts the winning process
Willingham’s efforts in the game kick started a four-run eighth innings providing lot of support to the team’s starter Trevor Cahill. The starter used the cruise control choice when he opted to throw seven innings of one-run balls. Cahill walked one run while striking out seven, which included straight four balls during seven innings of one-run baseball. During the match, Cahill retired nine batsmen in a row at the same time improving to 6-0 with the best MLB 1.72 ERA in another impressive season.
